The Chair leads the association, oversees its activities and represents the group externally. Working with the committee, they set meeting agendas, keep discussions focused, ensure everyone has a chance to speak and prevent any one person from dominating. They clarify key points, guide the group toward agreement and summarise decisions, assigning and recording actions clearly.

Sarah Meehan

Treasurer – treasurer@ipswich-allotments.org

The Treasurer manages the association’s funds, opens the bank account, keeps accurate financial records, and ensures
money is spent appropriately. They plan with the committee to maintain sufficient income, produce financial reports, and
organise independent account checks for the AGM. Provide oversight of field-level treasurers.

Claire Tolliday

Secretary – secretary@ipswich-allotments.org

The Secretary supports the Chair by ensuring smooth administration. They handle correspondence, organise meetings, take minutes, track actions and manage communication with members. They also store members’ details securely in line with Data Protection rules.

Cristian Dogaru

Membership Secretary – membership@ipswich-allotments.org

Maintains the membership system, supports registrations, and ensures records are up to date, maintains the website, and runs The Ipswich Gardener

Field Secretaries

Each field has a Field Secretary who helps oversee day-to-day matters, supports members locally, and acts as the point of contact for questions, issues, and community activity on their site.
