Renting an Allotment in Ipswich
🌿 Thinking about starting your own allotment? Allotments are a fantastic way to grow fresh produce, connect with nature, and enjoy time outdoors with family or friends. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned gardener, having a plot is a rewarding and sustainable activity.
Who manages the allotments?
Allotments in Ipswich are owned and managed by Ipswich Borough Council (IBC). The council is responsible for plot allocation, tenancy agreements, rent collection, and waiting lists. For more information, please visit the Ipswich Borough Council allotments webpage .
How do I apply for a plot?
📝 You can apply online through the Ipswich Borough Council website. Applications are accepted from both new and experienced gardeners, though there is currently high demand and a waiting list at many sites.
Important: You may only register for one field at a time. Once offered a plot, you can accept or decline. If declined, you may rejoin the waiting list, but may lose your priority position.
